Two openings have precise limits
Falmouth’s shellfish schedule, revised November 1, 2026, sets November 15 openings for the Falmouth part of Hamblin’s Pond and Waquoit Bay’s north-end mooring field.
At Hamblin’s Pond, the area within 100 feet on either side of Seconsett Island Road remains excluded. The Waquoit opening is north of the line joining 20 Nichols Road and 234 Metoxit Point Road. South of that line, the schedule sets a December 1 closure.
The notice applies to Falmouth family and commercial permit holders, subject to its exceptions. It expressly excludes bay scallop harvesting from these dates.
Use the current map before a trip
The town’s interactive shellfish map was marked updated November 1 when checked on November 4. Select the actual waterbody to see its status and restrictions; blue areas have separate recreational-only weekend rules, while green areas are open subject to stated exceptions.
A future opening date is not permission to harvest early. Recheck the town’s map and notices before setting out, particularly at a boundary between open and closed water. The map page states that areas not listed as open are closed.
