Two routes for working appliances
Nantucket’s November 14, 2026 recycling event offers a $30 mailed rebate for eligible dehumidifiers and $75 for eligible refrigerators or freezers. The town is working with National Grid and Mass Save.
Bring a working dehumidifier with a 20–70-pint capacity to the Public Safety Facility, 4 Fairgrounds Road, from 9:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. No advance registration is required.
Book large-appliance pickup first
Working refrigerators and freezers must measure 10–30 cubic feet. Curbside pickup requires registration by November 12, with limited spaces and a maximum of two units per electric account annually. Call 508-409-5311 or follow the town notice’s booking link.
The refrigerator service is a scheduled pickup; the Fairgrounds Road drop-off is for dehumidifiers. Confirm that your appliance meets the program’s conditions before arranging disposal.
