Use a Date Beyond the Ferry Season

For a one-night Provincetown visit on Saturday–Sunday, November 28–29, 2026, compare the bus with Cape Air before booking accommodation. This is Thanksgiving weekend. Bay State’s published late-fall ferry schedule ends November 15; Boston Harbor City Cruises’ 2026 timetable ends with October 12 service. November 28–29 falls beyond both published seasons.

The carrier searches below were checked November 4 for these exact dates. They describe scheduled journeys offered then, with no seats reserved. Recheck both directions and the fare conditions before committing; weather, schedules and availability can change.

Bus: Reach the Centre Before Lunch

Peter Pan’s November 28 search offered an 8:30 a.m. departure from Boston South Station, reaching Provincetown at 11:50 a.m. The itinerary changes buses in Hyannis, with the second leg departing there at 10:15 a.m. The total scheduled journey is 3 hours 20 minutes.

A later one-transfer choice leaves South Station at 2 p.m., changes in Hyannis to the 4 p.m. bus and reaches Provincetown at 5:35 p.m. For this one-night plan, the earlier journey creates substantially more time in town. South Station is at 700 Atlantic Avenue, Boston.

For Sunday, November 29, the latest Boston South Station journey shown in the search leaves Provincetown at 12:15 p.m., changes to the 2 p.m. departure from Hyannis and reaches Boston at 3:40 p.m. An earlier option leaves Provincetown at 8 a.m. and reaches Boston at 12:05 p.m. Search the complete trip again if your Boston destination differs.

Air: A Later Saturday Arrival and a Sunday Afternoon Return

Cape Air’s dated search offered flight 9K2011 from Boston Logan at 4:30 p.m. on November 28, arriving in Provincetown at 5:09 p.m. The return offered for November 29 was 9K2001, leaving Provincetown at 1:30 p.m. and arriving at Logan at 2:10 p.m. These flight times leave a shorter Saturday in town than the morning bus.

Cape Air recommends checking in at least an hour before departure. Its published minimum for checked baggage is 45 minutes. For Boston passengers without checked bags who already have a boarding pass, it requires a gate recheck at least 30 minutes before departure. At Provincetown, passengers without checked bags must recheck at the ticket counter at least 30 minutes before departure, even with a boarding pass.

Work backwards from the return: an hour before the 1:30 p.m. flight is 12:30 p.m. at the airport. Add the lodging-to-airport transfer before that; do not compare the flight and bus solely by their departure times.

Match the Arrival Point to the Lodging

Peter Pan’s Provincetown stop is on Ryder Street, at the bus shelter just before the MacMillan Pier parking entrance. Its stop page says to buy tickets in advance and signal the driver. Confirm the exact walking route or pickup to your lodging, particularly if you will be carrying bags.

Provincetown Municipal Airport is at 176 Race Point Road. It is a different arrival point from the downtown bus shelter. Ask the accommodation or a taxi operator to arrange both airport transfers, including the Sunday pickup time and a delay contact. Confirm the airport’s pickup point directly; an airline ticket does not arrange the onward ride.

Peter Pan requires arrival at the departure gate 30 minutes early during holiday travel periods. For the 12:15 p.m. Sunday bus, plan to be at the stop by 11:45 a.m.

Compare Bags and Change Terms With the Fare

Peter Pan permits one small carry-on of up to 25 pounds without an additional charge. Its current baggage page lists a $3 first stowed bag, included with its specified Plus Flex fare. Passengers transfer their own luggage between buses; request assistance from staff if needed. Its change policy lists a $10 reissue fee plus any fare difference, with its online instructions requiring completion at least two hours before the original departure. Check the particular fare’s refund terms.

For a local Cape Air trip to or from Boston, the baggage page lists one free bag up to 45 total inches, plus a personal item within its own limit. Aircraft layout affects where bags are stowed; confirm dimensions and fees for anything larger before purchase. Cape Air’s cancellation rules vary by fare and seller, and cancellations within 24 hours of departure can incur additional penalties. Read those rules alongside the accommodation’s cancellation terms.

Make the Return Part of the Booking Decision

The morning bus supports a longer Saturday visit; the flight offers a later Boston departure and a Sunday return to Logan. Choose according to the part of Boston you need, the confirmed transfer to the lodging and how much time you want in Provincetown.

Keep the Sunday departure, required early arrival and pickup arrangement together. If a carrier changes the plan, contact it promptly and check the next offered journey before extending a room booking. This example does not assume another bus, flight, taxi or room will be available that day.
