Go to the new Eastham venue
The 2026 State of Wellfleet Harbor Conference will take place Saturday, November 14, at Nauset Regional High School, 100 Cable Road in Eastham. Mass Audubon’s current announcement identifies this as a new venue and distinguishes doors opening at 8:45 a.m. from the conference itself, which runs 9:15 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The organizer’s registration page places the event in the school’s Performing Arts Center. Admission is free for adult members and nonmembers. Advance registration is encouraged but not required; donations will be accepted at the door.
What the morning will cover
The program connects several questions about the harbor and nearby waters. Presentations include water-quality monitoring, oyster settlement in the Herring River, habitat changes around Duck Harbor, restoration projects and research toward an acoustic alert system for dolphin mass strandings. Other talks address pond cyanobacteria and fish that move between fresh and salt water.
The Center for Coastal Studies, a conference partner, says each of the eight talks will be followed by spoken questions and answers. These are presentations of research and monitoring work; the program listing alone does not establish the findings that speakers will report.
Check the organizer before travelling
Use Mass Audubon’s announcement and registration page for the current schedule. Other listings show different arrival times, so this article follows the organizer’s freshly checked doors-and-talks breakdown.
An afternoon field trip remains described as being planned, with details to follow. Treat that as a separate possibility when arranging the day. For questions about attending or access, the program page lists 508-349-2615.
