Start With a Named Facility

For a winter outing in Eastham or Provincetown, start with these named public restrooms and keep a second stop in mind. The park and town publish year-round arrangements for the facilities below; hours and access information were checked on November 2, 2026. All hours are local. Save the relevant official page before leaving, then recheck it for changes on your travel day.

Eastham: Salt Pond Visitor Center, 50 Nauset Road

NPS lists the restrooms at Salt Pond Visitor Center as year-round. Its 2026 visitor guide and current hours data give the visitor center’s ordinary winter hours as 9 a.m.–4:30 p.m. daily. The center’s posted holiday exceptions include closure on Thanksgiving, November 26, and Christmas, December 25, 2026. Use the staffed hours as a conservative planning window; the park does not publish a separate daily opening and locking schedule for the exterior toilets on the hours page. Do not turn “year-round” into a promise of 24-hour access.

NPS describes Salt Pond Visitor Center as fully accessible. That is the park’s facility description, not a measurement of the current route from your parking space. For an essential access requirement or a holiday visit, ask the park at 508-255-3421 about the particular restroom and approach. If it is unavailable, establish another open facility with staff before starting a walk; a nearby beach symbol is not a confirmed winter alternative.

Provincetown: MacMillan Pier Parking Lot Comfort Station

The town’s dedicated restroom page explicitly lists this comfort station as year-round, seven days a week, 9 a.m.–10 p.m. Its location table places it on Ryder Street Extension and identifies one inclusive, ADA-accessible single-stall restroom. This is the parking-lot comfort station: the same page separately names restrooms at 24 MacMillan Pier in its seasonal list. Save the exact facility name so those two entries do not become interchangeable. The town’s mobile restroom map is linked from the source page.

Provincetown: Library and Town Hall Alternatives

At 356 Commercial Street, Provincetown Public Library’s restrooms are listed year-round: Monday, Friday and Saturday 10 a.m.–5 p.m.; Tuesday–Thursday 10 a.m.–8 p.m.; Sunday 1–5 p.m. The location table describes four inclusive, ADA-accessible single-stall restrooms.

Town Hall, 260 Commercial Street, is another named year-round option. The restroom page lists Monday–Saturday 8 a.m.–5 p.m. and closure on Sunday, with one inclusive, ADA-accessible single stall on the main level. These are published restroom hours, not a guarantee that holiday closures or a maintenance problem will leave the building accessible. The page places its detailed location table below a seasonal heading even though these three facilities are explicitly named in the year-round section; use the explicit schedules and verify any essential arrangement with the town.

Choose a Fallback Before You Set Out

For a weekday afternoon in central Provincetown, pair the library with the parking-lot comfort station. If the library closes at 5 p.m., the town’s published comfort-station hours extend to 10 p.m. On Sunday morning, the comfort station’s 9 a.m. opening is the listed option among these three; the library does not open until 1 p.m. and Town Hall is closed. If the comfort station is unexpectedly locked, this shortlist supplies no confirmed Sunday-morning substitute: change the outing until you can confirm one.

For an Eastham walk, check Salt Pond first, before driving to a trail or beach. NPS also describes Province Lands restrooms as year-round, but does not supply a separate winter restroom timetable there; the Province Lands visitor center itself is seasonal. That makes it a location to verify, rather than a timed fallback to promise. Reopen the park conditions page and the town restroom page on the day of travel. Public facilities have clearer published access than an assumption that a café will admit noncustomers.
