Applications through November

Sandwich is recruiting five community liaisons for Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness 2.0, or MVP 2.0. Its October 20, 2026 announcement sets a rolling application window that extends through November 2026. Selected liaisons will receive a stipend and attend two-hour, in-person meetings during winter and spring 2027.

Who the town wants to hear from

The notice seeks people with lived experience or connections to residents vulnerable to climate impacts, including low-income or fixed-income households, people with disabilities, older adults, young people and families, residents of color, and full-time Sandwich residents.

Apply through the form linked from the official notice. Selected applicants will have a 15-minute phone conversation. The Core Team is scheduled to begin in November. The town has not stated the stipend amount.

Building on earlier local work

Sandwich’s program page traces its MVP participation to a 2018 state planning grant. A community resilience workshop identified actions the town could pursue and led to its certification as an MVP community. The town points to the Jones Lane culvert project as an example of work supported through subsequent action grants.

The 2026 phase places greater emphasis on social resilience and community vulnerabilities. Liaisons will help connect that planning with residents’ experience of local conditions. The town describes the project as something the Core Team will help develop, so the recruitment notice is an opportunity to shape the work before a finished project is presented.
