Senior center and water system proposals
Orleans’ November 16, 2026 Special Town Meeting warrant includes two emergency-power projects. Article 17 would redirect $501,089.86 from unspent appropriations to install a generator for the Council on Aging/Senior Center. The explanation describes an approximately 200-kilowatt unit supporting additional building systems during outages.
Article 20 seeks $722,950 from the Water Special Revenue Fund to replace the 450-kilowatt generator serving the treatment plant and Wells 4 and 5. The existing unit dates to 2004. Both articles require three-quarter votes; they are proposals awaiting Town Meeting action.
