The announced season

Truro has set November 15, 2026, as Pamet Harbor’s oyster-season opening. Its November 5 notice schedules shellfishing on Sundays through April 25, 2027. The Shellfish Department’s current page confirms the November 15 opening for oystering.

Permits before harvesting

The department directs harvesters to obtain a shellfish permit at Town Hall or online. Licenses are also sold at the harbormaster’s office at Pamet Harbor, at the end of Depot Road. Annual licenses run from November 1 through October 31.

The posted 2026 annual fees are $20 for residents and $125 for nonresidents. Resident seniors aged 62 or older qualify for a free annual license. Check the town’s current shellfish notices before each outing for any change to the announced schedule.
