Two awards cover different preparatory work
Truro has received two state grants totaling $515,173 for wastewater work connected with the Walsh property, according to its October 27, 2026 announcement.
A $450,000 Rural Development Fund award supports a wastewater disposal plan and groundwater impact study for the Walsh Overlay District. A separate $65,173 Seasonal Communities award supports design and permitting for a treatment facility.
The town links this work to planned housing and mixed-use development while protecting groundwater and the public water supply. These awards fund preparation; the announcement does not report a completed treatment plant or a construction start.
Follow the planning documents alongside the grant
Truro’s wastewater document page provides the wider record, including its draft Comprehensive Watershed Management Plan, a June 2026 environmental-review certificate and earlier memoranda about Walsh and Truro Central School. The page cautions that preliminary reports and recommendations can change as projects develop.
Residents following the property can use that collection to distinguish an earlier concept from a later design or decision. The next substantive updates will be the studies and permitting work supported by the new awards; funding for those tasks does not settle every detail of future development.
